Illbliss breaks down Phyno's relationship with Capital Hill Music
During his exclusive interview, Illbliss broke down Phyno's relationship with the record label.
High profile rapper Phyno has been
associated with Capital Hill Music since his breakout in 2012. Many even
believe that the light skin rapper is signed to the Clarence Peters led outfit.
Unknown to many Phyno is actually signed to PentHauze Records, and not Capital Hill Music. The 'Alobam' rapper has some dealings with Capital Music. During his exclusive interview, Illbliss broke down Phyno's relationship with the record label.
"PentHauze is like Phyno's 'Young Money'. So he has the liberty to
go ahead and sign the people he needs to sign...we (Capital Hill Music)
manage his business, his endorsements. We are like business managers for
him, so to speak. He is not signed to Capital. He is not a Capital
artiste but he is hugely affiliated to us" explained Illbliss.
"Phyno is absolutely family. He's with us. That's what counts. On paper we get paid off endorsements which is what our focus is" he also said.
During the course of the interview he mentioned how Phyno has impacted the rap game in Nigeria. "He
change the entire atmosphere for rap. Before Phyno came they weren't
taking Igbo rap music seriously...then Phyno came in and flipped it on
everybody. He just came with a new style, new look, everything. The kid
is a hardworker. He is recording everynight. I get a lot of inspiration
from Phyno."
